WHAT TO EXPECT

Families trust Adventure Valley Day Camp to provide an environment for children that is Safe, Secure, Nurturing, Welcoming, Positive, Age Appropriate, Challenging and Extremely Fun.

Sessions:
Camp runs for 8 weeks (July 5 - August 27, 2010.) Campers can enroll for a minimum of two weeks, in two week blocks. Camp runs Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 4 pm. There is a half day option from 9 am to 1 pm for 2 and 3 year old Rompers. Extended hours are available from 8 am to 5:30 pm, for an additional fee of $55/week.

Groups:
Campers are grouped by their grade, camp session, gender, and requests to be with friends. We will make a strong effort to fulfill all requests for friends of the same gender, grade and camp session to be in the same group. Boys and girls in the full day general program are divided into separate boys or girls groups. Each group has at least two group leaders.

Fees Include:
Lunches, snacks, daily Red Cross swim instruction, camp bag, and all camp activities.

Ratios:
There is an overall camper to staff ratio of 3 to 1. Senior staff members are constantly interacting with camper groups, providing on-going supervision and direction to staff every day.

The Camp Day:
Every day starts when the campers arrive for all-camp morning schmooze, which is an exciting combination of skits, games, dancing and cheering. Following schmooze, each group will rotate through various activities according to their carefully designed, age-appropriate schedule. A highlight of some afternoons is our extremely popular Choose Your Own Adventure, known as “CYOA” where campers have the opportunity to choose from a variety of fun and creative “OUT OF THE ORDINARY” electives such as scavenger hunts, cheerleading, mystery excursions, human checkers, learning how to be a rock star, meditation, parades, extreme experiments, pool games, building time capsules, obstacle courses, spa, etc. Campers will swim once daily - a combination of Red Cross swim instruction and fun in the pools. This means less time wasted changing for swim in our locker rooms (although the kids just love having their own locker!) and much more time to enjoy the refreshing water. We have Red Cross certified lifeguards and instructor. Following an adventurous and fun day, campers board their bus or car and leave camp at approximately 4:00pm.
