The Adventure Valley Lifestyle
Adventure Valley is a place where staff can use every ounce of their creativity, spirit and energy. Each day our staff are given the opportunity to change the lives of children and feel like a kid again themselves. The camp days give our staff an opportunity to truly be themselves. Whether that means being silly, outgoing, loud, caring, nurturing or just outright fun, everyone’s true characteristics shine at camp. Although it is definitely beneficial, no previous camp experience is necessary for applicants. We will provide the training and on-going coaching. The natural ability to laugh and smile every day is a must!
Why Our Staff Choose Adventure Valley?
- The Friendships: There’s nothing quite like a friend made at camp. The people at camp (both staff and campers) are what make the AV family what it is. We are a close-knit community of about 100 staff members and we share stories, laugh together and support each other all summer long. We also have staff parties and events throughout the summer - our staff have just as much fun as the campers.
- The Experience: Even at a young age, we give all of our staff the opportunity to be a leader. Time after time, our staff have told us that the experiences and skills gained by being a part of the AV staff team have helped them in their school lives, career choices and relationships with friends and family. Not to mention they are making a positive difference in the lives of young children!
- The Amenities: Having 2 swimming pools (we all swim every day), tennis courts, soccer fields, a 50’s style diner, locker rooms, a campfire pit, and much more makes for an ideal camp setting. Our staff love that they can be outside on the gorgeous days and in the air conditioned building during inclement weather. Adventure Valley is definitely an environment that our staff look forward to coming to each day.
- The Perks: We do our best to provide door-to-door bussing for all of our staff who live within the camp boundaries (click here to view the boundaries) as well as provide a free lunch and snacks every day to all staff.
- The Ratios: With an overall ratio of 3:1, there is always a lot of support and help for everyone. Having so many staff members lightens the load and keeps everyone at their very best and spirited, without ever feeling overwhelmed.

Camp Dates
The AV camp season is 8 weeks long and runs from July 3rd to August 24th. Most of our staff work all 8 weeks, but we will consider hiring staff who can only work for 4 or 6 weeks. Preference is given to those people who can work the whole camp season. In addition to regular camp dates, staff are required to attend a mandatory multi-day pre-camp training session which will take place in June. As well, there are staff meetings, family nights and overnights which staff must attend.
Who Can Apply?
We hire a wide variety of people, from various backgrounds and locations ranging in age from 16 (having completed Grade 10) to many university graduates and teachers. We interview over 500 applicants each year to fill approximately 100 positions. This means that we can choose the best of the best!
